Murrine, also commonly called millefiori (a thousand flowers), are made by combining single-color or multi-color elongated glass rods in a sushi-roll fashion to create patterns such as flowers or stars in cross-section. Often, the term "millefiori" also refers to glass products made by cutting these rods into small pieces and arranging them. Please note that the pattern may differ from the photo depending on the section cut.
