【What is Makie?】
Makie is a traditional Japanese craft that originated in the Heian period. It involves drawing patterns with lacquer, sprinkling gold or silver powder onto the wet lacquer, and then, after it dries, applying another layer of lacquer over the pattern and polishing it to a finish. The creation of a single makie piece involves a surprisingly large number of steps and a significant amount of time.
Size = W:15 × H:15 × D:3 (mm)
Brand = Mt.Artigiano (Urushi Art HARIYA: Takayuki Hariya)
